Blog Post #1: Making a Plan
My intentions are to help people who are in our need. Raising money for local charities will make us feel like we am important in today's society. We plan to seek out people who are in our need by looking through websites and finding animals or people who are in a rut. In the next 3 months we plan on working on an Instagram page that tells the area of Upper Michigan that we are willing to help. The completion of my project involves volunteering to do manual labor or even walking to raise awareness. We will also be selling products to donate money to the shelter. In the end of our project we will feel great enough to maybe even continue to donate after our goal is finished.
Blog Post #2: What can be Learned from Failure?
Teachers across the globe are pursuing kids to work on genius hour. This projects lets a student let their own creative mind flow. Teachers and parents are crazy about this assignment. Kids can work on whatever they want and tell other people about it. Most of the time kids don't enjoy homework because the teachers give them assignments that are boring. One girl was even sad that she couldn't go to the school because of snow days, just because she wanted to work on her genius hour. Some kids had a hard time dealing with the concept of working on their own. It took me some time to stick with an idea for my genius hour. Sometimes i'm still not even sure ill be able to do this. I believe that I can finish the job that needs to be done with my genius hour. I will fail time and time again but I believe that with all of these fails there will also be success. My project will help me and the community around me so I believe that if I work to the core of my bone that I can achieve greatness.
Blog Post #3: How do Geniuses Think?
The definition of genius is "A person who is exceptionally intelligent..." What the author is trying to imply is that school does not define your ability to be smart. Some of the greatest people in the world only had the IQ of an average person. Most people come to see that if you have an A in school, that your the smartest person. The author is giving a different opinion to this claim. Genius does not come to you just by studying till your brain melts, its more of the strategies or methods that you use to solve problems. If you give a natural genius a problem, they will find different ways to solve the issue. Then taking all of the answers that they just used to compare one answer to another to see which is best. They also conduct the experiment more than once. It was Thomas Edison who taught us "I didn't stumble 1,000 times....the light bulb was an invention with 1,001 steps." Simply stating that if you fail, its just part of the process of stumbling upon something magnificent. This encourages the average person, such as me, to follow some of these methods to achieve greatness. I know I will go through moments where it will seem like a long process and Ill want to give up. Then I will think of all the fantastic achievements that all of these geniuses went through and I will not give up and try harder. My project will be a collaboration of ups and downs but that is the whole process of the genius hour project.
Blog Post #4: What does a 3-D Printer have to do with my Genius Hour Project?
Mr. Cowen's presentation influenced me in a lot of ways. His presentation was very well put together, with lots of information to help me understand what his genius project was all about. Mr. Cowen presenting and telling the class all about his genius hour project really helped me think on how I can improve my genius hour project. He implied how his 3-D printer works and what it takes to create the materials it makes. I can apply this to my genius hour project by presenting with some of the same methods he used. His facts were clear and understanding and he brought in examples to show what his project did. I will bring in example materials to show what people can donate in order to help the animal society. My genius hour project will be greatly improved.
Blog Post #5: Is Genius Born or Can it Be Learned?
Cloud was telling the readers "Is genius natural or does it happen over a span of years?" He was concluding tests that tells that some people are born with it while others get it over time. He states some people who have wrote books/articles on the matter. How do these brilliant people come to be this way? Cloud concludes that genius are molded into who they are. It has to do with many different aspects. Such as personality, who they grew up around and what they've been exposed to. I can apply this to my own life in more than one way. I can make better choices of who I want to be around. Although I cannot chose how to be raised, I can impact it through my own opinion. I can greatly improve my genius hour with the new information I have received. My genius hour will be better persuaded. I can control it to more my standards.

Blog Post #7: 6 Friday's Left!
I have learned quite a bit through these months upon months of genius hour. My partners and I have raised quite a bit of money to donate. Mostly through hard work and selling items. When I first started out this project, I thought it would make me happy just to give the money to the animal shelters. Then through this time that I have spent doing various projects of selling items, I realized something. People are hardworking individuals who have a goal, and when you have that goal, you aim to finish it in the best way you can.
